About MeI grew up the son of a preacher man and have been pursuing (and avoiding) the spiritual path for as long as I can remember. While serving as a school principal, I stumbled upon the work of Paul Ekman as I sought solutions for some of my kids who were struggling to skillfully meet their emotions. Ekman's work, particularly his partnership with Buddhist monks, sparked my curiosity. Around the same time, I rekindled a connection with my old friend, Kryzs, who showed me how to sit. I've been sitting ever since. And I've been practicing at Appamada since I moved to Austin in 2015.
