We had been practicing together as a sangha since 1995, under the name Ordinary Mind Zen, and led by Peg. Flint joined the sangha in 2008, and in January 2009 Flint and Peg began clarifying our shared vision for the evolution of the dharma and Zen practice in the west. We wanted our name to convey this vision, and in June, 2009, we introduced this next evolution of our sangha’s identity as Appamada.
