These are the roles for the councils for 2026. The roles for councils 2, 3, and 4 rotate approximately every year.

Council 1 (continuing) — Teacher Tasks
Entrusted teachers work with senior teachers to plan programs including classes and intensives.
Council 2 — Facilities (Exterior)
Oversee the maintenance of the exterior of the zendo property including organizing outdoor workdays, and tracking and requesting supplies needed.
Council 3 — Event Coordination
Work with teachers to set up registration forms for programs including classes and intensives; send program/intensive details to Council 5 to be added to the calendar.
Council 4 — Facilities (Interior/Purchasing)
Responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the interior of the zendo building and for tracking, requesting, and coordinating supplies.
Council 5—Calendar and Online Operations
Maintain and communicate the Appamada calendar, including all classes, intensives, and events. Ensure Zoom links and passwords are current. Compile and distribute the weekly events email. Add new participants to the email list as appropriate. Provide online monitoring, support, and coordination, including training and hands-on implementation. Oversee recordings through editing, production, and coordination support.

Be reminded that these jobs may be assigned to others, both in other councils and in the sangha at large. The responsibility that it gets done remains with the particular council above.
